It is a well known fact that power of the ocean and sea waves is enormous, but the exploitation of the wave energy is very low.
In document "COMMUNICATION FROM THE COMMISSION TO THE EUROPEAN PARLIAMENT, THE COUNCIL, THE EUROPEAN ECONOMIC AND SOCIAL COMMITTEE AND THE COMMITTEE OF THE REGIONS, Blue Energy, Action needed to deliver on the potential of ocean energy in European seas and oceans by 2020 and beyond", 2014, EU Commission emphasizes the importance of exploiting the ocean and sea energy as renewable energy which is designated as "blue energy".
Although Adriatic sea compared to other seas is not very rich in wave energy, it s worth building the wave energy plants at Adriatic bearing in mind that wave energy is a renewable energy and due to its very long coast Croatia is actually rich in that energy.
VANIS company has developed a proprietary patented wave energy converter with VANIS WEC designation.
Like the majority of commercial converters, our converter is on-shore by location and buoy with linear generator by type. With this characteristic the low cost construction and operation is ensured by simple design and minor construction works.
Wave energy plant consists of one or more converters and this provides modularity of nominal power in range of 10kW to 1MW and more.
